Roberto Guerrero, Sensei Sensei Roberto Guerrero is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate-Do. He began his training in 1973 in his home town in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico under the instruction of Sifu Juan Villalobos Trujillo 7th Dan. Under Sifu Villalobos he studied Chinese Pakua. Sensei Guerrero's Martial Arts lineage is as follows: Juan Villalobos Trujillo, Sifu-7th Dan, Ronald L. Rogers, Hanshi & Kenneth J.Baker,Hanshi. Sensei Guerrero was a high school teacher while still in Zamora, Michoacan, Mexico. In addition to teaching, he worked as a counselor in drug prevention and gang prevention. He also provided an after school Karate program designed to keep kids off the streets. Sensei earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan in 2000. At that time, he started working at Operation Breakthrough, at St. Vincent De Paul where he taught inner city children drug prevention and family values. Currently, he is teaching an after school program at Holy Cross in Kansas City, Missouri. He earned his 4th Dan Black Belt in 2009. He opened Guerrero’s Shotokan Karate on January 6, 2006. Sensei and his staff of Black Belt Martial Artists are committed to working with the community to teach Martial Arts, family values, self esteem and in building character in the individual. Sensei Guerrero is able to relate to students of all ages and all abilities and is a superlative instructor. He has a tremendous gift in teaching Karate to the disabled. |

Jimmy Gross, Sensei Sensei Jimmy Gross is a 4th Dan Black Belt in Okinawan weapons, 3rd Dan in Hawaiian Kenpo, 2nd Dan in Shotokan and 1st Dan in Jujitsu under the instruction of Hanshi Dan Kennedy, 10th Dan. He teaches Okinawan Weapons at Guerrero’s Shotokan. Sensei Gross is not only a marvelous Martial Artist, but also has an effective teaching style. He understands how to instruct students at any level, and he has an incredible knowledge ofmany Martial Arts. |

Phillip Calvert, Sensei Sensei Phillip Calvert is a 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, a 1st Dan Black Belt in Shin Nagari Karate, and a 1st Dan Black Belt in Aikido. He is the Head Aikido instructor at Guerrero's Shotokan Karate. Sensei Calvert is knowledgeable and he is unparalleled in his ability to instruct the Beginning student. His patience and skills are unmatched. |

Monte E. Cornwell,Sensei Sensei Cornwell started his Martial Arts studies at Guerrero's Shotokan Karate in 2006. Since that time, he has earned a Shodan in Shotokan(1st Degree Black Belt) and a Shodan inAikido. He holds a Green Belt in Okinawan Weapons. Sensei Cornwell is a testimony of what a student can achieve at Guerrero's Shotokan Karate. He started as a student and evolved into an instructor, now teaching the Beginner's Shotokan class. He is a knowledgeable and effective instructor for all age groups, with a good understanding of how to challenge and guide the student as they develop. |

Julie Haskins, Sensei Julie Haskins started studying Aikido and Shotokan Karate at the age of 49 years old. At 53 years old, she earned her Black Belt in Shotokan Karate. She has also earned a 2nd Degree Brown Belt in Aikido and a Green Belt in Okinawan weapons. Her other roles in the dojo are: to assist with Marketing, Public Speaking for Karate demonstrations and Self Defense classes. She also fulfills the responsibility of Office Manager and is an assistant Instructor. Her goal is to show people, in general, that you are never too old to start training. |
